Authorizing the Fire Department to accept the donation of 33 sets of ballistic vests and helmets valued at $72,600 from the Saint Paul Fire Foundation and Shield 616.

WHEREAS, the Saint Paul Fire Foundation along with Shield 616 has donated 33 sets of ballistic vests and helmets for firefighters valued at $72,600 to the Saint Paul Fire Department; and
WHEREAS, the donations for the ballistic equipment came from firefighter families, local businesses, and community members, and
WHEREAS, the Fire Department would like to accept the donation of 33 sets of ballistic vests and helmets from the Saint Paul Fire Foundation and Shield 616; and
WHEREAS, the public purpose of this donation is to provide firefighters protection when responding to calls; Now, therefore be it
RESOLVED, that the Saint Paul City Council accepts this donation of the 33 sets of ballistic vests and helmets from the Saint Paul Fire Foundation and Shield 616 and thanks them for their generous gift.
