Title
Amending the financing and spending plan in the Department of Parks and Recreation in the amount of $448,214 by first transferring $238,214 in previously accumulated Twins contributions to the Twins budget in the Grant Fund and then transferring $210,000 of this balance on to the Victoria Park Capital Project Fund for project enhancements.

Body

WHEREAS, the Department of Parks and Recreation is currently creating enhancements at Victoria Park; and

WHEREAS, Twins Grant funding has been identified and approved as a source of funding for enhancements at Victoria Park; and

WHEREAS, Parks and Recreation wishes to transfer $238,214 in fund balance, previously accumulated in the Recreation Special Fund from Twins contributions, to the new Twins Grant Budget in the Grant Fund; and

WHEREAS, it is the desire of the Department of Parks and Recreation to then transfer Twins Grant funds of $210,000.00 to the Victoria Park project for park improvements, with $28,214 remaining in the Twins Grant Fund for future approved expenditures; and

WHEREAS, the Department of Parks and Recreation wishes to amend the existing financing and spending budget for the project to reflect said funds; and

WHEREAS, the Mayor, pursuant to Section 10.07.1 of the Charter of the City of Saint Paul, does certify that there are available for appropriation, funds of $238,214 in excess of those estimated in the 2021 Grant Fund Budget and funds of $210,000.00 in excess of those estimated in the 2021 Capital Improvement Budget; now, therefore, be it

RESOLVED, by the City Council of the City of Saint Paul, upon recommendation of the Mayor and the advice of the Long Range Capital Improvement Budget Committee, that $448,214 is available for appropriation in the 2021 Budget, and said 2021 budget, as heretofore adopted by the Council, is hereby further amended.
