Authorizing the Police Department to accept a donation from the Saint Paul Police Foundation in the amount of $2,000 to assist with National Night Out expenditures.
Body
WHEREAS, the Saint Paul Police Foundation was formed in 2005 to help the Saint Paul Police Department (SPPD) in many ways including ensuring that public safety for our citizens remains the number one priority for our city; and
WHEREAS, the Saint Paul Police Foundation board of directors has approved the granting/donation of $2,000 to the SPPD, and
WHEREAS, the $2,000 donation will be used by SPPD to assist in the National Night Out expenditures including but not limited to purchasing materials to be distributed to the events at over 300 locations supporting the District Councils citywide who work with event planners; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, that the City Council accepts this generous donation, appropriates it to the intended use and extends its sincere thanks to the Saint Paul Police Foundation.
