Amending the financing and spending plans in the Department of Parks and Recreation in the amount of $38,625 to accept a grant from the Department of Natural Resources to plant 261 native trees to improve canopy diversification in City Council Ward 4.
 
Body
WHEREAS, the Department of Parks and Recreation has received a $38,625 grant from the Minnesota Department of Natural Resources, 2010-2012 Minnesota Community Forest Bonding Grant program, per City Council resolution #11-599 adopted 4/6/2011, and;
WHEREAS, Parks and Recreation will use these funds to plant 261 native trees to improve canopy diversification in City Council Ward 4, and;
WHEREAS, project work will occur at College Park, Langford Park, Hampden Park, Como Regional Park, and South Saint Anthony Recreation Center, and;
WHEREAS, the Mayor, pursuant to Section 10.07.1 of the Charter of the City of Saint Paul, does certify that there are available for appropriation, funds of $38,625 in excess of those estimated in the 2011 Grants and Aid Budget; and
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, by the City Council of the City of Saint Paul, upon recommendation of the Mayor  that $38,625 is available for appropriation in the 2011 Grants and Aid Budget, and said 2011 budget, as heretofore adopted by the Council, is here by further amended as follows:
