Appeal of Budget Exterior, on behalf of Wangthor Vang, to an Egress Window Non-Compliance Determination at 865 HAZELWOOD STREET.
Purpose of Appeal
Two existing double hung windows in block basement wall were replaced with 2 casement egress style windows in 2 sleeping areas. Homeowner unable to afford enlargement of opening to meet the 48" high requirement found in the new code. We have improved the egress abilities of these two openings by 100% over the original windows along with being more energy efficient for the client.

Legislative Hearing Officer Recommendation: If appellant installs at least 1 standard size step for the full length of the window, no hearing will be necessary and I will recommend variance on egress window dimensions.
