Authorizing the Department of Parks and Recreation to accept state bonding funds and enter into a grant agreement, which includes an indemnification clause.
Body
WHEREAS, the Legislature appropriated funding to the Metropolitan Council for a grant to the City of Saint Paul for the Wakan Tipi project in the amount of $3,000,000 in State Fiscal Year 2019 and $1,000,000 in State Fiscal Year 2021; and
WHEREAS, CF PH 21-147 authorized the City to enter into a grant agreement for said funds and amended the project budget to reflect said funds; and
WHEREAS, said resolution did not acknowledge the indemnification requirement contained in the grant agreement for these appropriations; and
WHEREAS, the Department of Parks and Recreation wishes to accept said grant funds and enter into an agreement for the funds; and
WHEREAS, the City Council finds that there is a public purpose in enhancing the interpretation and education of an important Dakota cultural site and natural area; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, by the City Council of the City of Saint Paul that the appropriate City officials are authorized to enter into an agreement with the Metropolitan Council for the aforementioned funding, which includes an indemnification clause.
