Body

WHEREAS, the fire Department would like to apply for the 2023 Staffing for Adequate Fire and Emergency Response (SAFER) grant to hire 12 additional firefighters; and

WHEREAS, the grant would be for $4,623,953 to support these additional firefighter positions over the three years of the grant; and

WHEREAS, there is no city matching requirement for this grant; now, therefore be it

RESOLVED, that the City Council authorizes the fire Department to apply for the 2023 Staffing for Adequate Fire and Emergency Response (SAFER) grant.
