Approving the Mayor’s appointments of Ibrahim Ahmed, Meegan Hall, Ta’Mara Hill, Robert Brian Jackson, Antonio Elias and reappointment of James Thayer to the Human Rights and Equal Economic Opportunity Commission.

Body

WHEREAS, the Human Rights and Equal Economic Opportunity (HREEO) Commission is responsible for monitoring and advising the department on promoting justice and equity and fosters hiring policies that maximize the diversity of the workforce of the city; and 

 

 

WHEREAS, Saint Paul Legislative Code Section 183.19 (1) states that the Human Rights and Equal Economic Opportunity Commission consists of twenty-one (21) members appointed by the Mayor with the consent of the Council; and

 

 

WHEREAS, Ibrahim Ahmed, Meegan Hall, Ta’Mara Hill, Robert Brian Jackson, and Antonio Elias applied to fill vacancies on the Human Rights and Equal Economic Opportunity Commission; and

 

 

WHEREAS, James Thayer has applied to serve an additional term on the Human Rights and Equal Economic Opportunity Commission; and

 

 

WHEREAS, Mayor Melvin Carter wishes to appoint Ibrahim Ahmed, Meegan Hall, Ta’Mara Hill, Robert Brian Jackson, and Antonio Elias to the Human Rights and Equal Economic Opportunity Commission for a three-year term ending on September 30, 2025; and

 

 

WHEREAS, Mayor Melvin Carter wishes to reappoint James Thayer to an additional term on the Human Rights and Equal Economic Opportunity Commission; now, therefore, be it

 

 

RESOLVED, that the Saint Paul City Council approves the appointment of Ibrahim Ahmed, Meegan Hall, Ta’Mara Hill, Robert Brian Jackson, Antonio Elias to the Human Rights and Equal Employment Opportunity Commission for a three-year term ending on July 31, 2026; and, be it

 

 

FURTHER RESOLVED, that the Saint Paul City Council approves the appointment of James Thayer to an additional three-year term on the human Rights and Equal Economic Opportunity Commission ending July 31, 2026.
