Appeal of Jarett Harmon to a Reinspection Fire Certificate of Occupancy With Deficiencies (which includes condemnation) at 548 MINNEHAHA AVENUE EAST.

 

Date/Time of 1st LH:  Tuesday, November 8, 2022, Room 330, 1:30 p.m.

Purpose of Appeal:  Had a report from a structural engineer that recommends replacement of exterior staircase.  This staircase is needing to be taken down or repaired, which we will do but more time is needed.  Recently, we had terminated our main. mgr. (10/11/22).  I've since taken over that role and had only been aware of the report recommendation for a few days.  We have a plan to correct this, but need a week or so to get it done.  Also, we have a tenant that just moved in that would need to be moved out today.  Asking for a few days at least to relocate her.

WHEREAS, in the matter of the Appeal of Jarett Harmon to a Reinspection Fire Certificate of Occupancy With Deficiencies (which includes condemnation) at 548 Minnehaha Avenue East, the Legislative Hearing Officer has reviewed the appeal and considered the testimony of City staff and the appellant; and

 

WHEREAS, the Legislative Hearing Officer recommends that the City Council grant to November 14, 2022 for third-floor unit to be vacated until such time as stairway is repaired/replaced under permit.  Stairway to third-floor unit is condemned immediately and cannot be used; Now, Therefore, Be It

 

RESOLVED, that the Saint Paul City Council hereby accepts and adopts the Legislative Hearing Officer's recommendation in this matter.
