Authorizing the Public Works Department to pay expenditures in the total amount of $5,000.00 for employee clothing purchases to be worn by employees when representing the Public Works Department during public events.
Body
WHEREAS, Saint Paul Public Works Department staff attend many public meetings and events in the course and scope of assigned work; and
WHEREAS, it is important that department employees be easily identifiable by residents at these gatherings and events; and
WHEREAS, the Department wishes to purchase clothing items which clearly identify the department and function of the employees to meeting attendees; and
WHEREAS, the City Council finds that there is a public purpose in providing clothing to be worn by Department employees when attending public meetings and events for work purposes that identifies them as representatives of the Department; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, that the Department of Public Works is authorized to spend up to $5,000 to purchase clothing to be worn by employees when representing the Public Works Department during public events.
