Authorizing the Fire Department to apply for the 2020 Hazardous Materials Emergency Preparedness (HMEP) grant in the amount of $77,657 from the State of Minnesota Department of Public Safety for training for firefighters.

 

Body

WHEREAS, the Fire Department would like to apply for the 2020 Hazardous Materials Emergency Preparedness (HMEP) grant to provide training for firefighters; and

 

WHEREAS, the total grant amount provided by the State of Minnesota would be $77,657 for the training;

 

WHEREAS, the grant requires a 25% in-kind match of $19,414.25 which would be met with the salaries of the firefighters attending the training; now, therefore, be it

 

RESOLVED, the City Council authorizes the Fire Department to apply for the 2020 Hazardous Materials Emergency Preparedness (HMEP) grant.
