Amending the finance and spending budget in the Department of Parks and Recreation in the amount of $22,693 to reflect grant funds received from the Ramsey County Soil and Water Conservation District through Minnesota Board of Water and Soil Resources (BWSR) for the Como Transportation Improvements-Como Pavilion and Golf Course Parking Lot Construction project.

Body

WHEREAS, the City of Saint Paul performs significant services for residents of the Metropolitan area and all Minnesota residents through the ownership and operation of its parks and trails; and

WHEREAS, the Ramsey County Soil and Water Conservation District conserves and enhances natural resources in Ramsey county by providing technical, financial and education support; and

WHEREAS, the Ramsey County Soil and Water Conservation District received BWSR grant funds to support enhancements to stormwater Best Management practices and have offered funds to this project; and

WHEREAS, the Department of Parks and Recreation will be reconstructing parking lots at the Como Lakeside Pavilion and Como Golf course in addition to resurfacing, renovation of associated circulation pathways, stormwater management, and landscaping; and

WHEREAS, acceptance of said funds from the Ramsey County Soil and Water Conservation District - BWSR will allow the Department of Parks and Recreation to add native plant material and landscape elements to the project; and

WHEREAS, there is a 10% matching fund requirement satisfied by existing budgets; and

WHEREAS, the Department of Parks and Recreation wishes to accept said funding and amend the financing and spending budget for the Como Transportation Improvements project in the amount of $22,693; and

WHEREAS, the Mayor, pursuant to Section 10.07.1 of the Charter of the City of Saint Paul, and the advice of the Capital Improvement Budget Committee, does hereby certify that $22,693 in funds are available for appropriation in excess of those estimated in th...
