Title

Amending the financing and spending plan in the Department of Parks and Recreation in the amount of $150,000 for funds granted from the DNR’s 2021 Local Trail Connections grant program and also increasing by $80,000 allocated from the Public Works 8-80 funds for the Wabash Avenue Trail Spur project.

 

Body

 

WHEREAS, the City of Saint Paul’s Department of Parks and Recreation applied for a 2021 MnDNR Local Trail Connections grant (CF #21-419) in the amount of $150,000 to construct new bike trail connections to the Grand Round, Mississippi River, and into Minneapolis; and

 

WHEREAS, the Department of Public Works allocated $80,000 from 8-80 funds; and

 

WHEREAS, said funding will be utilized in addition to existing project funds which satisfy the minimum required local match for funding; and

 

WHEREAS, the Department of Parks and Recreation will provide construction management and implementation services for the project; and

 

WHEREAS, the Department of Parks and Recreation wishes to accept said grant funds and reallocations and establish a financing and spending plan for the Wabash Avenue Trail Spur project; and

 

WHEREAS, the Mayor, pursuant to Section 10.07.1 of the Charter of the City of Saint Paul, does certify that there are available for appropriation, funds of $230,000 in excess of those estimated in the 2021 Capital Improvement Budget; now, therefore, be it

 

RESOLVED, by the City Council of the City of Saint Paul, upon recommendation of the Mayor and the advice of the Long Range Capital Improvement Budget Committee, that $230,000 is available for appropriation in the 2021 Capital Improvement Budget, and said 2021 budget, as heretofore adopted by the Council, is hereby amended as attached.
