Title

Amending the financing and spending plans in the Fire Department in the amount of $121,105.96 to accept the 2019 Assistance to Firefighters Grant to provide paramedic training for firefighters.

 

Body

WHEREAS, the Saint Paul Fire Department has applied for and received a grant of $133,165.56 from the Federal Emergency Management Agency's Assistance to Firefighters Grant Program which has a federal share of $121,059.60 and a 10% matching fund contribution of $12,105.96 to provide paramedic training for firefighters; and

 

WHEREAS, the City Council approved this grant application on RES 20-435 on March 11, 2020; and

 

WHEREAS, federal law requires a 10% matching fund contribution and the Saint Paul Fire Department match of $12,105.96 will be paid from 10022205-63310-2210024000-63310; and

 

WHEREAS, the financing and spending plans have not been established for the grant received; and

 

WHEREAS, the Mayor pursuant to SEction 10.07.1 of the Charter of the City of Saint Paul, does certify that there are available for appropriation, funds of $121,059.60 in excess of those estimated in the 2021 budget:

NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that the City Council accepts this grant and approves the changes to the 2021 budget as specified in the attached financial analysis.
