Authorizing the Director of the Department of Public Works to apply for a Minnesota Pollution Control Agency (MPCA) Environmental Assistance Grant for Focus Area E, Environmental Solid Waste Management Practices.
Body
WHEREAS, The City of Saint Paul has applied for a grant from the Minnesota Pollution Control Agency (MPCA), under its FY 14-15 Environmental Assistance Grant Program; and
WHEREAS, the grant application project intent is to hire a solid waste education and outreach specialist and a 2015 summer Right Track intern to conduct solid waste education outreach focusing on connecting with Saint Paul's low-income residents, multi-family unit building residents, communities of color, and immigrants; and
WHEREAS, if MPCA funding is received, the City of Saint Paul is committed to implementing the proposed project as described in the grant application; and
WHEREAS, MPCA requires the City of Saint Paul enter into a grant agreement with the MPCA that identifies the terms and conditions of the funding award; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED THAT, the Saint Paul City Council hereby authorizes the Department of Public Works to proceed with its grant application and, if awarded a grant, further authorizes the Department of Public Works Director to enter into any agreements necessary to accept the award.
