Title
Amending the financing and spending plans in the Department of Parks and Recreation in the amount of $500,000 to accept a Livable Communities Demonstration Account/Transit Oriented Development (LCDA/TOD) grant through the Metropolitan Council for Iris Park Improvements.
 
Body
WHEREAS, the Saint Paul Parks and Recreation Department has received a $500,000 Livable Communities Demonstration Account/Transit Oriented Development (LCDA/TOD) grant to fund renovations of the north end of Iris Park to include walking trails, a well-lit pedestrian plaza, and park enhancement to create a strong connection to the Light Rail Transit line; and
WHEREAS, it is the intention of the Department of Parks and Recreation to amend the 2013 Capital Improvement Budget by increasing the spending and financing plan by $500,000; and
WHEREAS, the Mayor, pursuant to Section 10.07.1 of the Charter of the City of Saint Paul, does certify that there are available for appropriation, funds of $500,000 in excess of those estimated in the 2013 Capital Improvement Budget; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, by the City Council of the City of Saint Paul, upon recommendation of the Mayor and the advice of the Long Range Capital Improvement Budget Committee, that $500,000 is available for appropriation in the 2013 Capital Improvement Budget, and said 2013 budget, as heretofore adopted by the Council, is here by further amended as indicated on the attached financial analysis.
