Authorizing the City Attorney to retain the law firm of DLA Piper, LLP to represent the City in the investigation of the matter of Magner v. Gallagher and the City's withdrawal of its petition.

WHEREAS, the City Attorney's Office entered into an outside counsel agreement on March 7, 2012, with Dickstein Shapiro, LLP, with consent of the City Council, for the purpose of assisting the City Attorneys Office with legal action related to the U.S. Congressional Investigation related to Magner v. Gallagher; and
WHEREAS, the services were to be provided primarily by Mark Paoletta, Jennifer Carrier and Alicia O'Brien; and
WHEREAS, Mark Paoletta has left Dickstein Shapiro, LLP and is now a partner in DLA Piper, LLP; and
WHEREAS, the City Attorney's Office wishes to maintain the continuity of counsel throughout the period of services, now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, that the City Attorney's Office is hereby authorized to execute those contracts necessary to substitute DLA Piper, LLP as outside counsel to the City in the matter of Magner v. Gallagher.
