Title
Amending RES PH 12-211, in the matter of improving Charles Avenue between Aldine Street and Park Street.
Body
WHEREAS, the Council of the City of Saint Paul approved RES PH 12-211 on September 5, 2012; and
WHEREAS, the improvements to be completed as per adopted RES PH 12-211 are referred to and listed in the Charles Avenue Project Summary of Engineering Recommendations dated 8-22-12; and
WHEREAS, the improvements listed in the Charles Avenue Project Summary of Engineering Recommendations dated 8-22-12 includes removal of median on Snelling Avenue at Sherburne Avenue and reconstruction of median to allow full access at the intersection; and
WHEREAS, Snelling Avenue is a Trunk Highway under the jurisdiction of the Minnesota Department of Transportation (MnDOT); and
WHEREAS, MnDOT will not allow removal of median and reconstruction of median at intersection of Snelling and Sherburne which provides to full access to all traffic movements; and
WHEREAS, MnDOT will allow construction of median at intersection of Snelling and Sherburne which will provide for left turns from southbound Snelling Avenue to eastbound Sherburne Avenue; and
WHEREAS, the Charles Avenue Project will not proceed without MnDOT approval; so
THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that the Council of the City of Saint Paul does hereby amend RES PH 12-211 to include construction of median at intersection of Snelling and Sherburne which will provide for left turns from southbound Snelling Avenue to eastbound Sherburne Avenue.
