Co-naming Burns Avenue from Highway 61 to Clarence Street in honor of Rosie Eleanor Johnsen.

WHEREAS, Rosie Eleanor Johnsen has been a dedicated resident of Saint Paul since moving to the city from Detroit Lakes with her family at the age of five; and,
 
WHEREAS, Rosie and her husband Robert Hans Johnsen, built the house at 1317 Burns Avenue in 1952, making it their home for the past 60 years; and,
 
WHEREAS, Rosie raised a loving family in the neighborhood, nurturing 7 children and welcoming 11 grand children and 7 great grandchildren; and,
 
WHEREAS, every day for over 55 years, Rosie has faithfully walked to work down Burns Avenue to serve the community at Obb's Sports Bar and Grill at the corner of Burns Avenue and Clarence Street, greeting people with her smile and warm hospitality; and,
 
WHEREAS, Rosie's family, friends, and many admirer's wish to celebrate her long service to the Obb's community and the neighborhood;
 
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, the Burns Avenue between Highway 61 and Clarence Street be co-named Rosie Boulevard, and that appropriate street signage should be placed by the Department of Public Works at the intersection of Burns Avenue and Clarence Street.
