Accepting a scholarship for travel, lodging, and conference registration, not to exceed $1300, from the Minnesota Historical Society for staff member Amy Spong to travel to the Annual National Alliance of Preservation Commissions Forum, July 18th through July 22nd, in Norfolk, Virginia.
 
Body
WHEREAS, the City of Saint Paul, Department of Planning and Economic Development (PED) will incur costs for city staff, Amy Spong, to attend the Annual National Alliance of Preservation Commissions (NAPC) Forum in downtown Norfolk, Virginia on July 18, 2012 through July 22, 2012; and
 
WHEREAS, the Minnesota Historical Society is willing to provide a scholarship to the City for the costs of attendance by city staff, anticipated not to exceed $1,300.00; with the remainder to be provided through PED's FY2012 Administrative Fund 126 Budget.
 
NOW THEREFORE, be it resolved that the City Council authorizes PED to apply for, accept and enter into a grant agreement with the Minnesota Historical Society; and be it
 
FURTHER RESOLVED, that the Mayor and the Council of the City of Saint Paul wish to recognize the Minnesota State Historical Society for its ongoing preservation work, and thank the Society for their generous assistance for continuing education.
